NOBODY SHOULD LIVE LIKE THIS
No child should grow up without a safe home. We must build social housing again. Join the movement.
About
I’m Kwajo, I’ve started Our Home Our Futures, because I believe everyone has the right to a safe, secure affordable home.
Andy Burnham put it best when he said “without a good home, what chance do people have of making a good life”
Over the past five years I’ve travelled the country and seen the housing crisis first hand. Families in damp, mouldy, dangerous homes. And a generation of children stuck in temporary accommodation without the hope of ever having a home of their own. For over a decade the government has failed to build the social housing we need.
Andy Burnham says he will change that. We’ve heard promises before - now we need action.
I believe we have a chance to build enough council houses and social rent homes, so that no child has to grow up in temporary accommodation.
Join Our Home, Our Futures - and let’s end the housing crisis.
The housing crisis
Councils spend £2.84 billion on temporary accommodation in 2024/25.
176,000 children with no permanent home.
1.3 million households stuck on housing waiting lists.

The housing crisis affects us all - but it doesn’t have to be this way.
We’re campaigning to end the housing crisis and calling on the Government to:
Invest in building social rent and council homes: enough to make a real difference
Cut the waiting lists: no children should spend their lives waiting to call a place home.
Fund repairs: no one should live in a damp, dangerous home.
