I’m Kwajo, I’ve started Our Home Our Futures, because I believe everyone has the right to a safe, secure affordable home.
Thousands of you have watched and shared my videos exposing damp, mouldy, dangerous homes. Thanks to your support, we’ve forced landlords and housing associations to act.
But the problem isn’t just bad landlords - it’s a government that has failed to build enough social housing.
The Government needs to put building social housing at the top of their priorities.
We need to build enough council houses and social rent homes, so that no child has to grow up in temporary accommodation.
The housing crisis
Rents are through the roof. Young people can’t afford to move out. Families are stuck in dangerous homes.
And councils? They’re drowning in the cost of emergency housing.
£2.3 bn spent on temporary accommodation for homeless families last year.
